September 13-16, 2012 – start making plans now!

DEBRA Canada is proud to announce that the DEBRA International 2012 Congress will be held in the cosmopolitan city of Toronto, Ontario.  Toronto is home of the country’s primary multidisciplinary EB clinic. DEBRA Canada President, Gena Brumitt, will co-chair the conference with Dr. Elena Pope, Head of Pediatric Dermatology at the Hospital for Sick Children.  An advisory panel is presently being assembled.

The conference dates are set for September 13-16, 2012. A patient care conference will take place on the 13th, and EB families are welcome to register for the entire conference or just attend the one-day patient care portion. All conference attendees will receive a free ticket to the Royal Ontario Museum, and the conference will open with a Canadian First Nations smudging ceremony.

Citizenship & Immigration Canada has been notified of our international event. Please see this website for information about visiting Canada: www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/publications/meeting.asp.  Check the list of countries to see if your visit requires a Temporary Resident Visa. If you need a letter of invitation to support your TRV, please email ehoyos@debracanada.org with your contact information, and DEBRA Canada’s administrative assistant, Erin, will send one promptly. Further details about the venue, agenda, hotel information, and official registration will be available soon, through a new website created specifically for the congress.
